Encouraging fitness is an important part of the lifestyle at Friends Homes. A Wellness Director plans varied activities to promote the health and well-being of residents. The exercise program encompasses aerobic activity, strength training, flexibility, and balance exercises. From arthritis aquatics, to theracize, to trail walks, there are scheduled classes for every interest and ability level.

Both Friends Homes at Guilford and Friends Homes West have exercise rooms equipped with state-of-the art equipment. Friends Homes West also has an indoor pool which is used regularly by residents of both communities. The Wellness Director works individually with residents and will design a customized fitness program to meet an individual’s special needs. Friends Homes is committed to promoting wellness so that each resident may realize his/her full potential.
