Friends Homes is a vibrant, active community that empowers residents to maintain their highest potential for wellness and independence. When you join our Resident of the Future waitlist program, you are taking the first step toward a secure future—and peace of mind for yourself and your family.

We welcome all potential residents without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, disability, or familial status. There are, however, two qualifications for residency in independent living at Friends Homes:

Age: Residents must be at least 62 years of age to reside in a Friends Home apartment, townhome, or cottage.

Health: Incoming residents must be capable of complete self-care.

Before applying for residency at Friends Homes, we encourage you to schedule a personal tour and visit both of our campuses, Guilford and West.

Enrollment Process

Step One

Download an application for residency (or obtain one from us by calling 336-369-4313). Submit your application and application fee.

Step Two

Once we have reviewed your application, you will be notified of acceptance. At that time, you may indicate whether you prefer the Friends Homes Guilford or Friends Homes West campus and the size accommodation you prefer. You may also include an approximate date upon which you would be ready to move to Friends Homes.

Step Three

When an accommodation matching your request becomes available, you will be notified on a first-come, first-served basis and will have an opportunity to accept or postpone
